Our Peach Green iced tea is light, subtle, and incredibly refreshing. The shards of dark green Chinese Sencha green tea leaves and fruit pieces combine beautifully to create a green liquor that is fresh and fruity. The addition of ginger adds a zesty and zingy kick to this glorious infusion.
We love the subtle sweet taste of this peach iced tea, which is perfect on long hot days and summer evenings. The fruity liquor also makes a great base for homemade ice lollies. If you’re feeling slightly naughty, then why not add a splash of vodka or white rum and serve over ice for a delicious long cocktail?
Although we developed this blend as an iced tea, it’s also beautiful served hot. When preparing this blend, you need to be careful. As with other green teas, it won’t take kindly to boiling hot water. It’s a sensitive soul and needs to be treated with care.
We recommend brewing it at 80°C for 3 minutes using fresh water. It you don’t have a swanky temperature-controlled kettle (or a food thermometer), then boil the kettle as normal, flip the lid, and wait a few minutes before pouring.
We reckon one generous teaspoon (about 2.5g) per serving is the perfect amount. If you’re making a jug, then use 4 -5 generous teaspoons per litre (or a decent sized table spoon). Once it’s brewed for 3 minutes, strain, allow to cool, and pop it in the fridge.
For those with a sweet tooth, a small dash of honey works really well with the peach and helps liven it up even more.
