Premium Pai Mu Tan White Tea
Our Pai Mu Tan Chinese white tea is mild, light, and incredibly refreshing. It's made from a mixture of unopened buds and the first two newly opened leaves. These buds are covered in downy white hairs (a little like peach fuzz) that give the tea a silvery white and pale green appearance.
Delicate Chinese white Tea with smooth floral notes
Pai Mu Tan is a little more astringent than other white teas, but in our humble opinion it's not a bad thing. Although it might not be as striking as other white teas, its flavour more than compensates. The pale-yellow liquor, which is mild in taste, is totally captivating and will leave you desiring more.
What's the best way to brew white tea?
As with all white teas, Pai Mu Tan is sensitive to boiling water. We recommend brewing it at 80°C for 2 – 3 minutes. If you don’t have a temperature-controlled kettle or a food thermometer, then wait a couple of minutes after the kettle has boiled before using the water.
Health benefits of white tea
White tea is made from young tea leaves and buds, and is one of the least processed types of tea. It's full of polyphenols and catechins and is naturally high in antioxidants. This helps prevent oxidative stress caused by free radicals. There are many other purported health benefits associated with white tea when combined with a healthy diet and lifestyle.
If you're unsure about the flavour of white tea, but want all the health benefits, then why not try Blue & White - a beautiful fruit tea that pairs Pai Mu Tan white tea with blueberries and elderberries (among other ingredients).
